 When the Ascension of the Lord is celebrated on the following Sunday, the second reading and Gospel from the Seventh Sunday of Easter (see no. 59) may be read on the Sixth Sunday of Easter.
Regarding the Ascension of the Lord, the ecclesiastical Provinces of Boston, Hartford, New York, Newark,
Omaha, and  Philadelphia have retained its celebration on the proper Thursday, while all other Provinces have
transferred this solemnity to the Seventh Sunday of Easter, June 5.  If transferred, Thursday, May 2, is observed either as an Easter Weekday or the optional memorial of Saint Marcellinus and Saint Peter, martyrs.  The following readings are used: Acts 18:1-8/Jn 16:16-20 (294).
